Everyone faces challenges in life. The key is to find help when you need it. We all need help navigating life’s challenges. Counselling may help you gain a new understanding of your problems as well as to develop new ways of coping with and solving these problems. Counselling may help you to develop new coping strategies and communication skills. When attending counselling you may feel less isolated.  There is no guarantee of the above statements, however these benefits are more likely to occur when someone actively participates and is committed to the process.

Peace of Mind Mental Health Services ensures that we are meeting our commitments under the law to uphold the confidentiality of our clients and maintaining the privacy of the personal and health information that we collect. We value your privacy and as result follow the laws of PIPEDA and PHIPPA to ensure your privacy is protected. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

Our services are confidential and no one at Peace of Mind will release your name or personal information to anyone outside of Peace of Mind without your informed, voluntary and written consent.

There are exceptions to your confidentiality where the law requires sharing information without your consent. These exceptions include:

If there is suspected physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect of a child under the age of 16, a report will be made to the Children’s Aid Society in your district.
If a disclosure of family violence or witnessing family violence involving children under the age 16 is made, a report will be made to the Children’s Aid Society in your district.
If there is imminent danger to one self or others appropriate disclosures will be made.
If a court orders a release of your files and records.

Appointments must be cancelled 24 hours in advance. In the event of late cancellation or failure to show up for an appointment, clients will be responsible for a $50 cancellation fee.

We assess fees based on sessions of 50 minutes in length. For more information, please see Our Services.

We accept cash, cheque and e-transfer. We also accept credit card payment which is processed electronically through Stripe.

To determine if you have coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully and determine if you have coverage for mental health therapy. This is often found in the paramedical section of your benefits information package.
